LogBook is built by Syed Systems. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What We Collect
- Account information - your name, email address, institution name, and designation when you sign up.
- Course data - courses, students, grades, and attendance records you enter into LogBook.
- Usage data - basic analytics about how you use the application (page views, feature usage) to improve the product.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the LogBook service
- To send you verification emails and password reset links
- To send grade reports to your students on your behalf
- To improve the product based on usage patterns
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your student data for advertising.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Each professor's data is isolated - you cannot access another professor's courses or students.
Data Retention
Your data remains in LogBook as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days. Backups may retain data for up to 90 days after deletion.
Your Rights
- You can export your data at any time
- You can delete your account and all associated data
- You can request a copy of all data we hold about you
